AccuRev and JetBrains Announce Partnership to Increase Java Developer Productivity Leverages Best-of-Breed SCM with IntelliJ IDEA Java Integrated Development Environment
Business Wire, May 16, 2006
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- AccuRev Inc. and JetBrains announced a partnership during JavaOne with the goal to enhance the efficiency of Java developers' change and configuration management tasks. Terms of the partnership include joint integration, sales and support for AccuRev's best-of-breed software configuration management (SCM) solution and IntelliJ(R) IDEA, JetBrain's award-winning Java IDE.
Java developers using the two solutions together can quickly leverage the power of AccuRev SCM and issue tracking, including the 2-stage check-in (keep and promote), refactoring support, difference between releases, view history, and other AccuRev workspace functionality. Additionally, access to change packages via AccuRev allows developers to group issues and features together and promote at the issue level, not just the file level, directly within IntelliJ IDEA.
Organizations are able to leverage their existing investment in IntelliJ IDEA to significantly streamline development, increase agility, and improve team collaboration enterprise-wide. Java programmers increase productivity by reducing routine, time-consuming tasks through refactoring and advanced code automation support and improve quality by easily associating source code to issues.
Todd Cleveland, Director of Development at Emptoris, the world leader in innovative supply and contract management software solutions, stated: "Together, IntelliJ IDEA and AccuRev offer us a more productive and efficient environment for managing change to our Java-based development projects by providing better visibility, improved collaboration and editing capabilities. The fewer tools and mouse clicks for me and my team, the better."
"JetBrains has always put the working developer's productivity and enjoyment at the top of its list of objectives for IntelliJ IDEA," said Alex Tkachman, JetBrains director of marketing. "This melding of AccuRev with IntelliJ IDEA shows how two companies, working together, can leverage the strengths of each product to benefit both individual developers and their entire project teams. As team productivity improves, so does a company's competitive edge."
"Integrating with IntelliJ IDEA is a key component of our strategy to provide the most powerful integrated SCM tool on the market for all leading software development environments," says Cliff Utstein, vice president of marketing and business development, AccuRev, Inc. "IntelliJ IDEA is used by many of our customers, and this combined solution simplifies their software development lifecycle."
