Fairchild Semiconductor Adds Additional Analog Development Teams; Three Teams Join Company to Expand Analog Power, System and IC Design Capabilities

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), the leading global supplier of high performance products that optimize system power, today announced the addition of three analog development teams, with approximately 25 individuals, to bolster its power analog business. These teams bring an aggregate 479 years of analog experience to Fairchild and will focus on developing next generation analog IC solutions for both DC to DC and AC to DC power management applications.
"These highly educated and experienced design engineers have joined over the last six months, and I'm confident they, coupled with the other solid members of our Analog Products Group, will drive our long term success metric of growing our business between $450 to $500 million in analog revenues with 45% to 50% margins," said Bob Conrad, executive vice president and general manager, Analog Products Group. Fairchild's three new development teams have extensive process experience across bipolar, DMOS, CMOS, and BiCMOS technologies, using analog, digital and mixed signal design techniques. Additionally, they have experience in both system and IC development in areas such as power supplies, power management, high frequency communications, motor drivers, phase lock loop products and high precision analog.
The three teams are located in Silicon Valley, North Carolina and New Hampshire - their members holding numerous patents and having been widely published.
Fairchild's analog products include:
--uSerDes(TM) serializer/deserializer solutions featuring low power and EMI for small display applications like cell phones;
--Integrated video filter drivers;
--Analog switch products for handset and computing applications;
--High performance amplifiers;
--FPS(TM) (Fairchild Power Switch) products for AC to DC power conversion in consumer applications;
--PWM controller products for AC to DC power conversion;
--PFC (Power Factor Correction) products;
--HVIC (High Voltage IC) product for industrial applications;
--LCD backlight products for portable and desktop displays;
--VRD 9, 10, and 11 compliant regulators for CPU power management; and
--System regulators for memory, graphics and other subsystems in computing and storage end markets.
