CONIX Systems Introduces iCONIX Logical Image Processing Architecture

Business Wire, May 16, 2006

MANCHESTER, Vt. -- CONIX Systems Inc., a leading international provider of payment processing solutions to the financial services industry, announced today the development of its iCONIX logical image processing architecture.

iCONIX is a scalable, server-based open-image processing architecture that enables rapid, efficient development of multiple processing applications. With iCONIX, CONIX Systems is able to define its services and solutions based on the specific business needs of its customers, which include most of the top 50 U.S. banks. This adaptability enables financial institutions to better manage their unique needs, resulting in significant cost savings and efficiency improvements.

The Check 21 legislation has resulted in a flood of individual niche products that have been developed and sold without regard to the overall flow of check images through the banking environment. Conversely, with more than 24 years of expertise in the area of payments processing, CONIX Systems has specifically designed its new iCONIX architecture to respond rapidly to the unique and complex processing needs of its customer base.

"Traditionally, CONIX Systems has been known for providing reliable mainframe solutions," said Frank Stokes, president, Technology Group of CONIX Systems. "However, in response to customer demand, our development focus has evolved from mainframes to also include the more flexible, cost-effective server-based processing environment. iCONIX, our server-based platform, enables us to develop products that can integrate easily, like the parts of a finely tuned engine. This architecture represents a significant investment in the server development business. Our goal is to provide the most technically advanced products to our customers, regardless of platform."

The iCONIX architecture is comprised of reusable utilities that facilitate the development of new products. Rather than designing new products from scratch, iCONIX allows the developer to combine existing utilities to quickly create solutions for specific customer needs. The new architecture improves CONIX Systems' ability to deliver more efficient, cost competitive products, thereby responding more rapidly to changing market conditions.

"Large financial institutions depend on a sound image processing infrastructure to help them remain nimble, despite their size," Stokes explained. "In the time it takes other providers to identify ways to link new products to their existing image infrastructure, we are able to leverage iCONIX to more quickly implement a solution that better suits the institution's unique needs - and do so in a very cost effective manner."
