L-3 Communications Appoints Mark D. Simon, Vice President and General Counsel of Its Power and Control Systems Group

NEW YORK -- L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that Mark D. Simon has been appointed to the position of vice president and general counsel of its Power and Control Systems Group. Mr. Simon will report to Steve Kantor, president and chief operating officer of the L-3 Power and Control Systems Group. In this position, Mr. Simon will be responsible for overseeing the legal affairs of the Group. Mr. Simon will also continue in his current position as vice president and general counsel of L-3's Communication Systems-East division, reporting to its president and chief operating officer, Greg Roberts.

Mr. Simon, age 47, joined L-3 in 1997 from the law firm of Cozen O'Connor, where he was practicing in the areas of commercial and products litigation. Prior to that, he served in various finance and contract management positions at Lockheed Martin and General Electric. Mr. Simon received a JD from Temple University School of Law in 1993, an MBA from Rider College in 1987, and is a graduate of Ithaca College.
