DataCert Launches AIMS IP; Dynamic Expansion of AIMS Brings Comprehensive IP-Specific Electronic Invoicing and Spend Management Solution to Corporate Legal
Business Wire, May 18, 2006
HOUSTON -- DataCert, Inc., the leading provider of electronic invoicing and legal spend management solutions, today announced the availability of AIMS IP. AIMS IP enables Fortune(R) Global 500 corporate legal departments with extensive intellectual property (IP) dockets to convert to a paperless environment, automate electronic invoice workflow and analyze outside counsel spend.
Customized Integration
Highly customizable, AIMS IP synchronizes proprietary intellectual property data from a corporation's IP system and interfaces with a company's invoicing processes. Now general counsel and legal executives can access a dedicated history of their company's IP spend.
"Having our IP financial data housed securely with our patent docket system has given us unprecedented visibility into our outside corporate IP spend," said Honeywell International Inc.'s Associate General Counsel and Chief IP Counsel David S. Hoiriis. "In addition to isolating potential problematic costs, it is a valuable tool for forecasting docket budgets and potential savings."
Implementation Support
DataCert's AIMS IP is a business solution that addresses the unique needs of corporate intellectual property professionals on multiple levels. In addition to providing electronic invoicing, automated workflow and valuable spend analysis, AIMS IP also offers users the distinct advantage of a law firm implementation team.
"DataCert's law firm implementation team is dedicated to working with each company's global network of IP agents and law firms to assist them with transitioning to AIMS IP's automated invoicing system," said Domenic Leo, DataCert's vice president of intellectual property business development. "No other electronic invoicing and legal spend analysis provider offers this implementation support."
Simplifying the Invoice Approval Process
Due to the complex requirements of maintaining and managing intellectual property such as trademarks and patents, corporate IP professionals typically employ a substantial number of outside law firms to consult on a national and global level. This contributes to an overflow of legal and vendor invoices.
Positioned securely behind a company's firewall, AIMS IP automatically delivers submitted invoices based on a legal department's authorized chain of approval. If approval is not granted within a selected number of days, administrators and/or co-approvers receive reminders. Authorized users can access the system from any internet connection to view and approve invoices.
Additional AIMS IP Features
AIMS IP features foreign currency capability, which permits corporate legal departments to view, modify and approve invoices in more than 100 different currencies. By providing conversion into multiple currencies, AIMS IP allows corporations to accurately examine and process invoices on a worldwide platform.
Authorized administrators of AIMS IP are also able to produce customized reports based on invoice charges, hours billed, docket budgets and general legal spend parameters.
Availability
AIMS IP is available immediately. For more information on AIMS IP, please contact DataCert at 713-572-3282 or e-mail nasales@datacert.com (North American inquiries) or emeasales@datacert.com (international inquiries).
