It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's…Celebrity Super-Mom; Moms Name Most Successful Celebrity ``Super-Moms'' in FamilyFun.com Poll; Families Encouraged to Nominate Their Own Super-Moms in Contest Sponsored by FamilyFun.com and HP
Business Wire, May 2, 2006
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Whether toting her kids to school or accepting her Oscar(R) at this year's Academy Awards(R) ceremony, Reese Witherspoon tops the list of celebrity "super-moms." According to the majority (33 percent) of American moms polled in a recent FamilyFun.com survey(a), Reese leads the pack for her ability to successfully manage a first-rate career and a busy family life. Other celebrities recognized in the poll for their "super-mom" abilities included Kelly Ripa (26 percent), Katie Couric (22 percent), Jada Pinkett-Smith (13 percent) and Felicity Huffman (6 percent).
FamilyFun.com (www.familyfun.com), the premier online family resource for creative solutions, conducted the poll to kick off the site's Mother's Day festivities, including a "Moms Save the Day" contest which allows guests to recognize the super-moms in their own lives.
"Moms are the ultimate superheroes, seamlessly juggling multiple roles and adding extra touches of love in everything they do for their families, whether preparing a meal or planning a party," said Emily Smith, vice president of FamilyFun.com. "At FamilyFun, with our vibrant community of moms and parents, we are celebrating those among us who truly go the extra mile for their families, ranging from high-profile celebrities to everyday super-moms."
The contest, sponsored by HP, gives FamilyFun.com site visitors the opportunity to nominate moms who have demonstrated originality and creativity in "saving the day" in one of four areas: recipes, crafts, travel and parties. Two winners in each category will be selected by FamilyFun.com editors and announced in June on the site. In addition to having their tips and ideas featured on the site, the winning moms and their nominators will each receive HP Photosmart printers. The call for entries runs until May 26.
