BAE SYSTEMS To Provide Information Technology Services For U.S.-Based Operations

MCLEAN, Va. -- BAE Systems will support U.S.-based requirements for networks and information assurance services to approximately 30,000 of its employees through its IT services unit, BAE Systems Information Technology, effective May 1. Additionally, BAE Systems Information Technology will provide a full range of IT services to its 14,000-employee Customer Solutions group this year. In 2007, BAE Systems Information Technology is scheduled to provide IT services to an additional 5,000 employees in the U.S.

The in-sourcing initiative will provide centralized, high quality, cost effective IT services that adhere to the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework for BAE Systems in the U.S. The effort will also build on IT capabilities while pursuing new business opportunities within the Federal IT market. The company has developed a world class ITIL based IT service delivery management model, constructed a new Network Operations and Security Center employing the latest in proactive network and security management tools, and expanded enterprise application support capability to serve both BAE Systems' in-house and federal Government customers.
