Birlasoft Teams up with Composite Software to Offer Retail and CPG Solutions
Business Wire, May 22, 2006
EDISON, N.J. -- Birlasoft Inc., a leading provider of software development and support services, today announced a strategic partnership with, Composite Software, the leading provider of on-demand data delivery, to jointly develop and co-market solutions and services for the retail and consumer goods industries, which require on-demand access to operational data for fact-based decision making.
As part of the partnership, Birlasoft will develop targeted retail and consumer goods solution templates and accelerators, and provide domain expertise, consulting services and application development skills to customers. Composite Software provides the enterprise information integration (EII) technology that will be the foundation for the solutions. In addition, Composite will be engaged in Birlasoft's global development centers, where a core team will be trained to support joint customers worldwide.
Retail is a low margin industry, which is increasingly becoming competitive due to consolidation, globalization, multi-channel growth, and more discerning customers, to name a few factors. As a result, many retailers are being compelled to strive for operational efficiency and at the same time change their business strategy. The Birlasoft-Composite partnership will help customers implement innovative customer-centric initiatives and demand based supply chain solutions.
"At Birlasoft, we realized that our key solution and service offerings for this industry will be incomplete and ineffective unless we could find a technology solution to unlock operational data from across the retail enterprise and supply chain and present a single view of the information in a fraction of the time for decision making," said Sanjeev Motwani, SVP of Retail and Consumer Vertical at Birlasoft. "When we considered alternative options from a wide variety of tools, we discovered that Composite's technology was our ideal solution as it offered not only rich functionality and high performance, but was also very simple to use."
"Composite Software is excited Birlasoft has selected our product to build their solutions for their retail and consumer goods customers. The retail and consumer markets need for timely and accurate information coming from multiple data sources is a perfect fit for Composite technology," said Dave Marino, Director of Alliances at Composite Software. "By combining Composite with Birlasoft's domain expertise, process, development capabilities, and commitment to the retail markets, the joint solution will enable customers to better manage their business, find ways to better service their loyal customers, and continue to find ways to keep control of their cost."
