Tarari's Randy Smerik Named Finalist for Entrepreneur Of The Year Award; CEO Nominated in Ernst & Young Program Recognizing Entrepreneurship

SAN DIEGO -- Tarari, Inc., the award-winning acceleration company, today announced that Randy Smerik, Tarari's president/CEO and co-founder, has been named finalist in Ernst & Young's twentieth annual Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) Awards in the "Emerging" category in the San Diego region. Other finalists in the "Emerging" category include Patrick Henry, Entropic Communications and Peter Ulrich of TargeGen, Inc. A banquet honoring San Diego's outstanding entrepreneurs is being held at the Hilton La Jolla Pines, La Jolla, California on Wednesday, June 14 at 5pm.
Since 1986 Ernst & Young has awarded "Entrepreneur Of The Year" to recognize the vital contributions of the leaders and creators who build and sustain world-class businesses rich in vision, leadership, achievement, and social responsibility. Previous national Entrepreneur Of The Year winners include Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com, Pierre Omidyar of eBay, Inc., Sergey Brin and Larry Page of Google, Inc., Howard Schultz of Starbucks Corp., Catherine L. Hughes and Alfred Liggins of Radio One, and Jim McCann of 1-800-Flowers.com. Ernst & Young will announce this year's winners in May 2006.
