Misys Healthcare Systems Wins 2006 TEPR ''Hot Products'' Award; Homecare PDA Application Recognized for Improving Patient Care Through Innovative Mobile Technology
Business Wire, May 23, 2006
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, was presented the 2006 TEPR (Towards the Electronic Patient Record) "Hot Products" Award yesterday at the TEPR Conference in Baltimore. The Misys Homecare(TM) PDA application was honored for its ability to help improve patient care in home health agencies by enhancing data accuracy, eliminating physical paper work and allowing clinicians and health aides to seamlessly communicate patient data between agencies and the field.
With the Misys Homecare PDA application, clinicians can transmit patient data to field staff and create customized plans for each patient. The device-independent application - one of the first healthcare applications available on the new Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 platform - creates a paperless system and allows caregivers to spend more time on patient care. The built-in wireless capability of the platform presents healthcare workers easy access to up-to-date patient data, giving users critical information to make timely decisions.
"Our PDA application, which integrates with our Misys Homecare solution, empowers home health practitioners with industry-leading technology that enables them to provide a higher quality of care," said Betty Feth, president, Misys Healthcare Systems' Homecare Systems group. "With its point-of-care capabilities, the solution allows clinicians to more effectively care for their patients by capturing clinical data and patient's signatures in the home. We're pleased TEPR took notice of the 'quality of care' benefits the PDA solution brings our customers."
Neal Reizer, director of R&D for Misys Healthcare Systems' Homecare Systems group, accepted the award during a special ceremony yesterday afternoon. This marks the third time in three years that Misys Healthcare Systems has received a TEPR Award.
