Appian to Present at Transformation and Innovation Conference; Company Co-Founder to Discuss How Defense Agencies Leverage Business Process Management as a Strategic Platform

VIENNA, Va. -- Appian, the leading provider of human-centric business process management suites (BPMS), today announced that Marc Wilson, co-founder and vice president of professional services of Appian, will be presenting at the Transformation and Innovation Conference in Washington DC on May 24, 2006. Mr. Wilson's address entitled "Defense Transformation Powered by Business Process Management," will highlight defense agencies that are using BPM as a strategic technology platform for integrating existing systems, managing human capital and deploying next-generation, process-centric composite applications.
The Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security are ahead of the curve in leveraging emerging BPM technologies as key components of their enterprise architectures and addressing critical requirements for defense transformation. Mr. Wilson, will speak from 10:15-11:15 a.m. Eastern Time at the conference on how these agencies are operating some of the largest BPM deployments to automate and optimize key processes.
Mr. Wilson is a co-founder of Appian and is currently responsible for the company's professional services business. In this role, Mr. Wilson oversees all of Appian's implementation and customization efforts on client sites. He has successfully delivered some of the largest and most sophisticated projects in the software industry, including the Army's well-known Army Knowledge Online (AKO) program. As Appian's high-level program manager, Marc worked with executives throughout the Army to develop a strategy for the process of webification and IT consolidation as well as project control and risk management for AKO.
