URS Selected to Provide Engineering and Construction Services to the Air Force

SAN FRANCISCO -- URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) today announced that it has been awarded one of 20 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts to provide engineering and construction services at bases worldwide for the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) under the Heavy Engineering, Repair and Construction (HERC) contract. The current HERC program ceiling is $6 billion, with the potential to increase to up to $15 billion. Task orders under the contract will be issued over a five-year period, with the option to include three additional one-year ordering periods.
Under the terms of the contract, URS can compete for, or be assigned, task orders that include the design and construction of new facilities and infrastructure, as well as remodeling and upgrading existing facilities and infrastructure at U.S. Air Force installations and potentially other Department of Defense installations worldwide.
Commenting on the contract, Martin M.
