Orthogon Systems Wins Network Computing's Well-Connected Award; Prestigious Trade Publication Selects OS-Spectra 300 as Best Overall Point-to-Point Fixed Wireless System

Business Wire, May 3, 2006

WALTHAM, Mass. & ASHBURTON, England -- Orthogon Systems, a leading provider of fixed wireless solutions for reliable connectivity in difficult environments, today announced that its OS-Spectra 300 has been selected by CMP Media LLC's Network Computing for a 2006 Well-Connected Award, taking top honors in the Point-to-Point Fixed Wireless System category. The trade publication cited excellence in "performance, reliability and manageability" as key attributes of the OS-Spectra 300 that led its award-winning designation.

The Well-Connected Awards, now in its twelfth year, represent the very best products and services the technology industry has to offer in networking. The winners are chosen by technology editors from products that have been tested and evaluated in the magazine's Real-World Labs. The OS-Spectra 300 became eligible for a Well-Connected award based an extensive comparative evaluation of fixed wireless solutions conducted last year ("Fixed Wireless Systems, Bridging the No Cable Divide," Sept. 9, 2005). In this review, which carefully evaluated deployment, performance and management, the OS-Spectra 300 edged out six competing products to be named Editor's Choice.

"The Well-Connected Awards are unique because they're the only industry awards given by technologists based on real-world use and integration. We view all products, technologies and services from the same perspective as our readers," said John Siefert, publisher of Network Computing. "This is an important distinction from any other award program. The products selected in the Well-Connected Awards have been tested in an actual business environment. They are truly innovative solutions that work - and we have the metrics to prove it."

"We're especially honored that the OS-Spectra 300 has been selected for a Well-Connected Award," said Phil Bolt, president and CEO, Orthogon Systems. "Most trade publications hand out awards to vendors in way that's best described as arbitrary. The Well-Connected Awards stand out because only products that have withstood rigorous testing in Network Computing's real-world scenarios are considered. We applaud the publication's effort to recognize exceptional technology based on well-balanced testing and actual performance benchmarks."

The complete list of the 12th Annual Well-Connected Award winners can be found in the April 27th print edition of Network Computing or online at www.networkcomputing.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=185303667.
