Avvenu Now Lets Users Remotely Play Any Song in Their Entire Music Collection From a Mobile Device Anytime, Anywhere

Business Wire, May 31, 2006

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Avvenu, Inc., the company that provides free remote access to home and work computers from around the corner or around the globe, today announced My Media Play, a new feature that gives users access to the entire music collection stored on their computer anytime, anywhere. Whether at work or on the go, My Media Play lets users play any of the MP3 and WMA music files stored on their home computer from any computer or Windows Mobile 5-equipped phone. The Avvenu service with My Media Play is free and available now at www.avvenu.com.

With My Media Play, there is no advance preparation required. Users are liberated from the time-consuming task of syncing their music collection to a portable player or specifying a set playlist. So wherever they are, whenever they want to listen to their music, Avvenu users have the convenience of selecting any music file they want to play from the complete collection stored on their computer.

Using My Media Play is simple. After using the browser to log into the Avvenu service and accessing their home or work computer, users simply navigate to the song or playlist of their choice and click the Play button. The user's media player software automatically launches and plays the selected music.

"The My Media Play music capability is another example of how we're giving users access to their entire digital life," said Richard French, CEO of Avvenu. "Every document, every photo, and now every song, is immediately available. Now that's true mobility."

About Avvenu

Avvenu, recent recipient of the prestigious PC World Innovations Award and the Best of Mobile Technology Award, is a free service with optional premium features that lets business users and consumers securely access their office and home computers (up to four computers) from any web-enabled mobile device or computer. Avvenu's powerful remote access features let users securely view, download and edit files and photos directly from the user's computer. The Avvenu service also allows users to share files, photos and folders with friends and co-workers. The content being shared doesn't have to be downloaded to the mobile device or uploaded to a centralized server -- all sharing is directly off of the host computer. There are no file size limits, so users can quickly share hundreds of megabytes of data.

While Avvenu offers its service directly to consumers, the company is also working with major corporations to enable them to deliver this capability to their customers. Partners include Motorola, Palm, Adobe Systems and Maxthon.

The Avvenu service is based on patent-pending technology in media routing and managed peer-to-peer content access and distribution. Avvenu, Inc. based in Palo Alto, California, is a privately held company with venture funding provided by Charles River Ventures, Worldview Technology Partners, and Motorola Ventures.
