IDG and Quigo Launch First Contextual Advertising Marketplace Across IT Web Sites
Business Wire, May 4, 2006
BOSTON -- International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading producer of technology Web sites, magazines, and newspapers, is now offering contextual advertising services on six of its US Web sites. Using Quigo's AdSonar platform, IDG's TechWords program is the first keyword-targeted, auction-based, pay-per-click advertising marketplace in an IT-focused content network. TechWords advertising is available in cio.com, computerworld.com, csoonline.com, infoworld.com, javaworld.com, and networkworld.com.
TechWords enables IDG to create an auction-based marketplace for online text ads that go to the highest bidders. The ads are linked to contextually relevant editorial in the six IDG Web sites, which have approximately 5.5 million unique visitors every month. AdSonar deploys industry-leading contextual and keyword-targeting technologies as well as sophisticated yield optimization tools to power the TechWords marketplace.
"We've built a premier auction-based advertising marketplace to enable marketers to effectively reach corporate IT buyers," said Bob Carrigan, president, IDG Communications. Carrigan added: "Quigo provides the platform for us to connect technology advertisers with buyers who rely on cio.com, computerworld.com, csoonline.com, infoworld.com, javaworld.com and networkworld.com for news and information."
IDG TechWords clients may purchase keywords from IDG sales representatives, Quigo, ad agencies, or online at www.techwords.com.
Michael Yavonditte, Quigo's chief executive officer said: "Quigo is very excited to partner with a premier technology media company like IDG. The IDG network consists of many of the Web's most prominent and innovative enterprise technology sites, and IDG is a terrific partner with whom to build the most targeted keyword marketplace for technology advertisers. TechWords advertisers will receive more qualified leads and a greater return on investment than they would by advertising anywhere else."
AdSonar is deployed on many of the Web's most recognized sites across numerous categories including news and information, lifestyle and health, real estate, travel and entertainment, business, and sports. Quigo's Adsonar network has also amassed an unrivaled local presence across the country through its distribution on the Web sites of over 150 local, regional and national newspaper publishers including The Tribune Company, The Hearst Company, The McClatchy Company, and Morris DigitalWorks, to name just a few.
