Business Wire, May 8, 2006
ATLANTA -- Westcon Group Will Distribute Award-Winning Messaging Security Products through SecurityPoint Program, Providing VARs with Enhanced Ability to Secure Communications
CipherTrust, Inc., the global market leader in messaging security, and Westcon Group, Inc. today announced an agreement in which the distributor will carry CipherTrust's entire product suite to technology resellers throughout the United States and Canada. This agreement enables both Westcon Group and CipherTrust(R) to meet the needs of their customers as opportunities within the channel continue to grow and companies continue to prioritize secure messaging communications.
"With its specialized security-oriented reseller community and proven track record, Westcon is leading the way in providing best-of-breed security products and practices in the channel. As CipherTrust continues to build its channel program and product lines, we find that the needs of our resellers have increased as well," said Steve Sheinbaum, vice president of channels for the Americas at CipherTrust. "This agreement allows us to leverage Westcon's reach and years of experience in the security market. When you combine its world-renowned logistics experience with innovative programs and tools like SecurityPoint, LeadVision and SalesVision, Westcon becomes the clear choice to help us expand and grow our presence in the North American channel."
In December 2004, CipherTrust announced its intentions to fulfill 100 percent of sales through the Company's network of broad-based integrators and channel resellers. The Company now has more than 120 partners throughout the United States and Canada and continues to add top-tier resellers to the team. Additionally, CipherTrust continues to advance its product suite to protect organizations across all boundaries of information exchange: (IronMail)(R) protects e-mail against spam, viruses, phishing, policy and compliance violations; (IronIM)(TM) protects instant messaging against viruses, worms and policy violations and encrypt sensitive information; (IronNet)(TM) multi-protocol protection against sensitive information leakage; and (TrustedSource)(TM) automated optimization of accuracy and effectiveness using global reputation tracking.
"CipherTrust's multi-layered messaging solutions help address a critical need companies face every day: to provide a secure network environment for all messaging," said Laurie Usewicz, vice president of Affinity sales and marketing at Westcon Group North America. "The need for businesses to secure communications is no longer just a measure of compliance; companies of all sizes and in every vertical market are looking to standardize messaging security measures to ensure network productivity. CipherTrust plays an important role helping customers achieve this, and we look forward to offering its products as part of our SecurityPoint program, launching later this month."
"We see CipherTrust's partnership with Westcon as an opportunity to expand our security consulting practice and offer our customers a comprehensive and well-rounded suite of security solutions. Through its agreement with CipherTrust, Westcon helps us to stay out in front of these opportunities not only by providing a compelling product mix, but also by offering the required product support for Ciphertechs to stay competitive," said Nic Alicandri, Managing Partner of Ciphertechs, a solution provider delivering professional technology solutions to New York and New England area financial firms.
