This new national event for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing, which will take place June 27-30, 2006 at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City, is the latest addition to a global family of INTERPHEX events that includes trade shows and conferences in the United States (NYC), Puerto Rico, Japan, Singapore, India and China. Keynotes will take place from 11:30am to 1:00pm each day of INTERPHEX Mexico. "These keynote sessions are designed to fuel discussion and update the market on the latest trends in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing," stated David Attolino, Event Director for Reed Exhibitions, producer of INTERPHEX Mexico. Securing the supply chain
"Managing Uncertainty and Vulnerability in the Life Sciences Supply Chain" is the title of Wednesday's keynote presentation by Carla Reed, Vice President of Logistics & Distribution for ChainLink Research. She will explore the many challenges created by extended supply chains in the life science industries, explain areas of constraint, and provide a step-by-step process to reduce the potential risk of supply chain interruption. Attendees will be better prepared to deal with such unforeseen events as natural disasters, shortages in transportation resources, border delays and more.
Managing and mitigating risk
On Thursday, June 29, Elizabeth Martinez Flores, Director General of Terra Farma, S.A. de C.V., will speak on "Risk Management in the Pharmaceutical Industry." Ms. Flores' presentation will offer a systematic approach to risk management considering tools currently used worldwide, that will enable firms to make more effective and consistent risk-based decisions across the product lifecycle and in compliance with good manufacturing practices. She will demonstrate how effective risk management can ensure a company's ability to deal with potential risk and have a beneficial impact on compliance in product, process, environmental and staffing issues.
Best practices in process development
Friday's keynote, entitled "Industry Best Practices: From cGMP to Process Validation," will be presented by Monica Cardona, Biopharm Marketing, Pall Life Sciences. Having a better process development strategy is becoming critically important as an increasing number of biotechnology companies are moving products to pilot and full-scale drug production. Moving development quickly from R&D to full-scale production requires innovative approaches and scalable technologies to eliminate bottlenecks, and optimize the speed, safety and efficiency of the development process.
