Marathon Technologies Launches Online Service for Evaluating its High Availability Solutions; everRun™ Availability Center Reduces Time and Resources Needed to Thoroughly Test and Evaluate Marathon's High Availability Technology

Business Wire, May 9, 2006

LITTLETON, Mass. -- Marathon Technologies Corporation, the leading provider of high availability software for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) environments, today announced the launch of the everRun(TM) Availability Center (EAC). The new hosted service provides those interested in evaluating Marathon's everRun product family with a fast and easy-to-use, virtual test lab environment. With three different operating modes for users with varying testing needs, the EAC provides virtually the same experience as if they were evaluating Marathon's technology in person.

The launch of the EAC comes at a time of rapid growth for Marathon. Following nine quarters of consecutive growth and the recent launch of a new breakthrough high availability solution, everRun HA, Marathon has seen an exponential increase in the demand from companies interested in its solutions. The EAC, which will enable Marathon to meet the rapidly growing demand for evaluation of everRun technology, will enable users, of any level of expertise, to test and ensure that Marathon's high availability solutions work seamlessly with their mission-critical applications.

"Typically, product evaluations are extremely time and resource intensive for both the client and the vendor and in some cases, where the company doesn't have an onsite test lab, they are prohibitive," said David Mazursky, vice president of services at Marathon. "With EAC serving as a virtual test lab, we have created a simple, cost-effective way for people around the world to evaluate both everRun FT and everRun HA."

EAC can be run in three operating mode options:

1. Demo - Enables users to walk through a self-directed demonstration of the everRun solutions.

2. Standard - Allows users to evaluate everRun functionality utilizing a standard SQL-based application running on Marathon's solutions to demonstrate application transparency with everRun technology.

3. Custom - Enables users to upload and test home-grown or specific applications with Marathon's solutions to demonstrate application transparency with everRun technology.

"We have experienced tremendous growth and increasing demand for our technology, at a rate which we expect to continue with the development of innovative high availability solutions such as everRun HA," said Gary R. Phillips, president and CEO of Marathon. "EAC, which better positions us to meet this demand, is an example of Marathon's drive to continue to deliver value-add solutions and services to the marketplace."

Marathon's everRun line of high availability products protects Microsoft Windows applications from leading sources of downtime while eliminating the need for costly and complex failover processes, specialized applications, or proprietary server hardware. Turnkey, automated, and simplicity are the cornerstones of the everRun line, which uses embedded intelligent policy management to resolve faults & failures. The primary benefit to the end user is that applications continue to ComputeThru(R) platform faults & failures, without needing to modify or script the application. The protected application runs on one server at a time, utilizing the redundant hardware in the second server in the event of a device failure, preventing costly downtime.
