JUMPTAP ADDS PERTINENT TRAVEL INFORMATION TO ITS MOBILE SEARCH SERVICES IN TIME FOR BUSIEST TRAVEL SEASON OF THE YEAR
Content from AccuWeather.com[R], AP Digital and FlightView lets mobile carriers offer subscribers up-to-the-minute weather, news and travel information
JumpTap, Inc., a pioneer in the development of innovative mobile search and advertising solutions, today announced that it has added up-to-the-minute weather, news and travel information to its powerful mobile search services in time for the busy Thanksgiving travel season. Through agreements with AccuWeather.com, AP Digital and FlightView, JumpTap is adding content from these companies to its growing roster of mobile search capabilities, further improving the user experience of cell phone users.
In recent statistics gathered by JumpTap for its mobile operator customers, 7% of the unique users have searched for travel related information. Of the specific travel related searches, 50% were for weather, 40% were for news and 10% were for flight updates. JumpTap will continue to monitor these statistics during the Thanksgiving week to see if significant changes occur in the frequency or distribution of searches.
AccuWeather.com's reliable, current and extended weather forecasts, and timely severe weather updates will be offered as direct answers to user searches within JumpTap's mobile search applications, enabling users to check local and national weather conditions on their mobile handsets.
With the addition of news content provided by AP Digital, a division of The Associated Press, users will have access to international, national and local news using AP text, photos, graphics and audio. AP's news features can be offered as targeted news packages and content categories to personalize results for subscribers
By integrating content from FlightView within its mobile search offerings, JumpTap will allow users to monitor and access flight departure and arrival information as well as airport information.
"Just in time for one of the busiest travel times of the year, JumpTap's integration of flight, weather and news services will make the carrier branded mobile search experience a service that mobile users access repeatedly," said Adam Soroca, Vice President and General Manager of Search Services for JumpTap. "By adding news, weather and flight information we are delivering on JumpTap's commitment to provide the best end-to-end mobile search solution for our carrier customers. JumpTap's search engine capabilities combined with an advertising program help content providers, marketers and mobile operators make money from mobile search and advertising."
