Honors Companies "Doing Well by Doing Good"
OAKBROOK, Ill. -- CONVERTING Magazine announces the winners of its 2006 Innovator Awards, which recognize the achievements of converting and package-printing companies that are "doing well by doing good" for their customers, their employees, their communities and their markets. The four 2006 Innovator Award winners are:
Labeltronix (Orange, CA)aWinner, small-company category: For its Lean Labeling(SM) program and extensive charitable contributions toward the Friendly Center of Orange and the CHOC Walk for the Children's Hospital of Orange County.
Midwest Converting (Bedford Park, IL)aRunner-up, small-company category: For its innovative business model, capital-equipment investments and paper recycling efforts.
Alcan Packaging (Chicago)aWinner, large-company category: For its EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) FIRST program and its work with Joplin, MS, elementary schools to promote personal safety and recycling/environmental awareness.
Kimberly-Clark Corp. (Neenah, WI)aRunner-up, large-company category: For its Lean Manufacturing workshops and broad-ranging charitable contributions.
Nominations for the 2006 Innovator Awards were submitted by converting-companies' own employees, industry suppliers, clients, consultants and peers. A one-page form was available for download from the Website. From the dozens of nominations, the editors of CONVERTING narrowed down the list to 15 finalists; follow-up interviews were conducted to help choose the winners.
