Avatech Solutions and RCMS Group Form Alliance to Provide Project Services and BIM Production Support
Business Wire, Nov 20, 2006
Partnership Accelerates the Conversion from Traditional Design and Drafting Processes to Building Information Modeling (BIM)
BALTIMORE & ATLANTA -- Avatech Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB: AVSO.OB), the nation's leading provider of design, engineering, and facilities management solutions, and RCMS Group, a leading provider of design production services to architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms, announced today they have entered into an alliance to provide clients with the ability to more cost-effectively accelerate design production work for projects and facilitate the adoption and migration to BIM technology.
"This partnership will allow our customers to gain from the productivity benefits of building information modeling, and add value to the overall building lifecycle - design, construction, maintenance, and management," said Mark Haddad, Vice President of Avatech Building Solutions Group. "RCMS Group's production services will enable Avatech to offer our clients a more comprehensive solution by adding building design production services and content creation to our existing products, training, support, and integration services. This offering gives our clients the ability to rapidly and accurately create drawings using the new BIM standard, while mitigating risk to their workflow or overextending their staff."
"Our services augment and support a client's internally available resources - helping them to compete effectively with increasing demands and reap the significant advantages associated with BIM," said KP Reddy, President and CEO of RCMS Group. "The alliance between Avatech and RCMS gives clients the opportunity to extend their project load without budget, staffing, or technological restraints. Avatech has broad reach and strong consultative relationships in the building design, construction, and owner markets and will help us find those that will benefit from our joint offering."
"This is another step in line with the Avatech Building Lifecycle Management strategy in the building design, construction, and operation markets," explains Haddad. "One of the common challenges of adopting new systems is legacy data that requires conversion, in addition to the whole comfort level of adopting a new way of thinking about the design and engineering. Avatech's philosophy is to make the process painless and easy for our customers."
"This partnership is a demonstration of our commitment to listening to our clients and expanding our solution offerings based on our clients needs," said Scott Harris, Avatech President and COO. "By accelerating our clients' use of this technology, we help them to be more competitive and, in turn, offer more value to their own clientele."
