DSA to Support DISA Global Electromagnetic Spectrum Information System's Program Management Office
Business Wire, Nov 20, 2006
FAIRFAX, Va. -- Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA), a leading provider of global information technology services to government and industry, announced today that the company has been selected to provide program management support to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Electromagnetic Spectrum Information System (GEMSIS) Program Management Office.
GEMSIS is intended to provide capabilities for integrated spectrum operations across the entire Department of Defense (DoD), in addition to interoperability with Federal, State and local government spectrum agencies and coalition forces.
DISA was given the lead role for the GEMSIS program, which is envisioned as a net-centric emerging capability providing commanders with an increased common picture of spectrum situational awareness of friendly and hostile forces, while transparently deconflicting competing mission requirements for spectrum use. This capability will enable the transformation from the current preplanned and static assignment strategy into autonomous and adaptive spectrum operations.
"DSA is proud to be selected to support this very complex and mission critical program for the Department of Defense," stated Doug Wagoner, DSA Senior Vice President and General Manager.
Under the $1M task order granted under the General Services Administration Multiple Award Schedule, DSA will be responsible for assisting DISA in forming and capturing the concepts necessary to create the documents and exhibits needed to initiate and complete its Milestone efforts. Responsibilities include providing analysis and research expertise for the development of required Milestone documents as called for in the Department of Defense Instruction 5000.2, "Operation of the Defense Acquisition System."
