FaxCore's New SharePoint Connector Adds Fax Management Capabilities to Microsoft's SharePoint® Portal Server
Business Wire, Nov 28, 2006
PARKER, Colo. -- FaxCore Corporation, a provider of fax and document server automation solutions, today announced a new product designed to extend the value of fax management within Microsoft's SharePoint[R] Portal Server. The FaxCore SharePoint Connector integrates with the SharePoint Portal Server and enables fax indexing through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) -- making faxes text-searchable. Previously, faxes on the SharePoint Portal Server could only be viewed as images and not indexed for users to retrieve. Microsoft's SharePoint[R] Portal Server 2003 is a powerful solution that provides a single point of access to people, teams, knowledge, and applications.

"Our new SharePoint Connector solution offers increased flexibility to users who require advanced fax management features with their existing SharePoint Portal Server platform," said Tom Linhard, Director of Channel Sales for FaxCore, Inc. "In addition to fax indexing, this new offering includes the capability to deliver faxes into designated SharePoint Document Libraries, making documents like purchase orders, sales invoices and contracts easily accessible by appropriate personnel. The manual processes of scanning and filing faxes into SharePoint are now completely eliminated."
Some additional benefits of the FaxCore SharePoint Connector include better security and access control, and the ability to keep an audit trail on received faxes. Administrators can configure document libraries to allow specific users to view, edit, download, or delete faxes from each folder. Plus, each time a user modifies a fax within SharePoint, an audit trail is created allowing all users to track changes and know who made specific modifications.
