Videoconferencing Solutions Integrated into Customized Portals Simplify Use and Increase Visual Collaboration
NEW YORK & OSLO, Norway -- TANDBERG[R] (OSLO:TAA.OL), the global leader in visual communication, today announced extensive support for Microsoft[R] Office SharePoint[R] Server 2007, providing a complete visual communication portfolio that seamlessly integrates into SharePoint portals.
TANDBERG's unique video portfolio allows SharePoint Server 2007 customers to build more effective collaboration portals and provides a richer user experience for a traditional server-driven application. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 supplies an infrastructure for building collaborative Web sites that makes it possible for companies to share information and documents across teams, departments, and large organizations easily, reliably and securely.
TANDBERG's SharePoint portfolio is comprised of TANDBERG Movi for PC videoconferencing; TANDBERG Management Suite (TMS) for videoconference scheduling and management; and the TANDBERG Content Server for video streaming and archiving. TANDBERG integration is enabled through Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 Features, Web Parts and Web Services. TANDBERG is also releasing the source code that allows customers to further integrate, customize and automate TANDBERG solutions within existing applications or portals.
For example, by integrating TANDBERG technologies into SharePoint 2007, customers can:
* Schedule video calls through SharePoint portals by leveraging the power of TMS.
* Participate in videoconferences through SharePoint 2007 portal sites using TANDBERG Movi.
* Automatically record, produce and optimize video content for live and on-demand streaming with the TANDBERG Content Server.
* Capture a comprehensive record of visual communication activities within SharePoint portals.
"We designed SharePoint technology to deliver sites and features to meet a wide variety of customer workspace and portal applications," said Mike Fitzmaurice, Senior Product Manager for Microsoft Office Business Applications. "TANDBERG has done great work bringing a whole new visual element to the collaboration sites customers use every day."
TANDBERG has been working in concert with Microsoft on early adopter programs to make the new functionality available to customers in time for Microsoft's release of SharePoint Server 2007. TANDBERG's Microsoft specific integration offerings are already optimized for Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office Communicator and Microsoft Zune[TM].
"We fully expect our unique product integration with Microsoft to change the industry by making visual communication more readily available and easier to use in existing customer environments," said Fredrik Halvorsen, Chief Executive Officer at TANDBERG. "Our portfolio integration with Microsoft SharePoint will bring about new levels of productivity for our customers."
Integration capabilities of TMS and the TANDBERG Content Server (S2.1) into SharePoint are currently available. Movi integration will be available in Q2 2007.
