HandySoft Enhances Portal Capabilities by Adding JSR 168 To BizFlow
Business Wire, Nov 6, 2006
Portlet Industry Standard Provides Enhanced Interface, Security Compatibility and Ubiquitous Portal Connectivity
VIENNA, Va. -- HandySoft Global Corp., a provider of business process management (BPM) solutions, today announced the addition of Java Specification Request 168 (JSR 168) portlet standard compatibility to BizFlow[R]. The release benefits customers by providing control in the look and feel of the workflow management tool, as well as congruent security for enterprise users, regardless of their capabilities or access requirements.
With the addition of JSR 168, BizFlow (HandySoft's award-winning platform for business process management, automated workflow and collaboration) now allows users to create a portlet that can be loaded and instantiated seamlessly within any supported portal framework. A programming model for portlet developers, JSR 168 is a key standard for portal application delivery, designed to establish a common interface for portlets to enhance efficiency.
BizFlow's functionality is now easily available through portals, allowing users to exercise BizCoves (the configurable user interface portion of BizFlow) as portlets. With the advent of the JSR 168 specification, users' work items, process definitions and process instances can be viewed within portals, web pages, PDAs or BizFlow work areas, and all views are controlled by permissions in a standardized environment.
"JSR 168 augments BizFlow's existing functionality with the key requirement for portal integration that the majority of our customers seek, especially those in the public sector," said Brian Boxman, chief operating officer of HandySoft. "This release demonstrates HandySoft's commitment to our customers and their needs."
Portals supported by this release include IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, AquaLogic (Plumtree) and Microsoft Sharepoint. The module is accompanied by a JSR 168 User Guide to assist users with implementing portlets within supported portals.
