SightSpeed Receives Frost & Sullivan's 2007 'Company of the Year' Award for IP Communications Services
Business Wire, Nov 6, 2006
BERKELEY, Calif. -- SightSpeed, the leading provider of personal video services over the Internet, has been awarded Frost & Sullivan's 2007 "Company of the Year" award in the category of IP Communications Services. SightSpeed will be presented the award at the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Excellence in Information & Communications Technologies Awards Banquet on Jan. 24, 2007 at The Buttes Resort in Tempe, Arizona.
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Company of the Year is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence within its industry. The award is based on numerous factors including overall market potential for the company's products and services, proof of success as established by company growth and visibility, strategic innovation, and leadership within a particular Frost & Sullivan Industry Research Group (IRG).
In announcing the award, Frost & Sullivan stated that SightSpeed has developed an outstanding, revolutionary and uniquely compelling IP communications product for both consumers and small businesses. SightSpeed's best in class services empower users to communicate, collaborate, and connect with new communications tools including video calling and conferencing, as well as voice calling and video mail and messaging.
In underscoring the vast market potential for SightSpeed's services, Frost & Sullivan Analyst Lynda Starr explained that while IP telephony has been touted as a lower-cost alternative to traditional telephony, "video calling and video messaging may be the key to mass consumer acceptance." Said Starr, "The company's growth has been phenomenal with little marketing. SightSpeed has its finger on the pulse of future communications."
"The SightSpeed team is extremely pleased to receive this prestigious award from Frost & Sullivan," said Peter Csathy, CEO of SightSpeed. "We appreciate not only Frost & Sullivan's recognition of video's central role in the future growth of IP communications, but also SightSpeed's leadership position in this communications revolution. We also appreciate the recognition of the tremendous and dedicated team assembled at SightSpeed and the excellence of SightSpeed's technology from one of the most highly respected consultancies in the world."
