SHELTON, Conn. -- Platform Dynamics today announces Platform Dynamics Recycle Bin Release 2.1 is available for customers. This release extends functionality from the prior version to include an administrative component that aligns with EMC's Information Life-Cycle Management (ILM) strategy. New features include: auto-purge of Recycle Bins based on business rules, object expungement by users and/or PDRB administrators, enhanced security, usage reports by Recycle Bin size or by user, improved configurability, and utilities that extend the ability to manage user Recycle Bins across the enterprise.

PDRB provides functionality for EMC Documentum clients, similar to that of Microsoft[R] Windows Recycle Bin. In leveraging familiarity that users have with this type of technology, PDRB represents a product that can be rapidly deployed and readily used. PDRB offers a familiar and comprehensive method to eliminate the administrative overhead of performing complex restore processes.
