Toshiba Telecom VP/GM Brian Metherell to Present Keynote at INTERNET TELEPHONY® Conference & EXPO West 2006

Toshiba Participating in Five Sessions at Leading IP Communications Event at San Diego Convention Center

IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. Telecommunication Systems Division (TAIS TSD) today announced that Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager, will deliver a keynote presentation entitled, "VoIP Success: Promise vs. Reality" at TMC's INTERNET TELEPHONY([R]) Conference & EXPO West 2006 being held October 10-13, 2006, at the San Diego Convention Center. Mr. Metherell's keynote will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at 5:30 p.m. In addition, Mac McGrath, Toshiba's director of National Accounts, will represent Toshiba in the "Battle for the Enterprise" keynote panel being held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at 3:45 p.m. Toshiba is also hosting three breakout sessions at the conference. At Booth 400, Toshiba will show its full line of VoIP products, including the Strata CIX Family of IP business communications systems; mobility, wireless and remote worker solutions including Toshiba's Video Communication System; and Call Center Solutions.

In his presentation, Brian Metherell, VP/GM of Toshiba's Telecommunication Systems Division, looks at what constitutes success of a VoIP solution today. Whether it's over the LAN, Wireless LAN, or a traditional TDM system, he takes a hard look at the promise versus reality of VoIP in real life case studies, what really matters, and how companies and organizations measure success of their voice communications, from cost savings to productivity improvements.

Mac McGrath, Toshiba's director of National Accounts, joins representatives from other VoIP equipment manufacturers to discuss the challenges of choosing the correct IP communications solution for your enterprise. The moderator for this panel will be Greg Galitzine, editorial director of TMC's IP Communications Brand, which includes TMCnet.com. Internet Telephony Magazine, SIP Magazine and IMS Magazine.

Mac McGrath: "VoIP from the Trenches" Panel Co 10/13/06, 2:15 p.m.

Moderated by Mac McGrath, Toshiba's director of National Accounts, this panel features VoIP/telecom dealers talking about their experiences deploying IP in a variety of industries. Among the topics they will address:

* Specific customer case studies that show different ways companies are using IP telephony and their benefits

* Tips on how to make a smooth transition to IP telephony Co network assessments, overcoming technology hurdles, migration, converged solutions, forklift upgrade issues, etc.

* Taking VoIP mobile and to remote offices/workers (wireless phones, soft phones, etc.)

In his session, David Fridley, Toshiba's senior product manager for IP Telephony, will look at Wifi Telephony issues, including network security, delivering enterprise-specific features throughout an 802.11 network, technical considerations when integrating 802.11 into an existing converged infrastructure, and vendor-neutral practical applications.
