Solution combines RedMAX(TM) WiMAX products with Cisco Aironet 1500 to form intelligent wireless mesh network

BOSTON -- Redline Communications, a leading provider of standards-based broadband wireless equipment, today announced that it will unveil a WiMAX-WiFi mesh network solution that combines the Cisco Aironet 1500 outdoor wireless mesh network at WiMAX World USA in Boston, MA. The solution enables the delivery of fixed and portable wireless broadband services throughout municipal and metropolitan areas.

The WiMAX-WiFi solution enables network operators to support advanced communications. Combining Redline's WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) RedMAX AN-100U sector controllers and RedMAX Outdoor Subscriber Units (SU-O) with Cisco Aironet 1500 Series access points, the solution enables operators to deliver the convenience of WiFi with the Quality of Service levels and manageability of WiMAX.

The combined system solution gives operators the ability to cost-effectively deliver wireless, WiMAX or WiFi, Internet access over considerable outdoor distances and in a range of network environments, and to realize revenue opportunities through the rapid provisioning and simplified management of WiFi and WiMAX services.

"WiMAX is changing the way operators approach their broadband network strategies, and is opening up opportunities for equipment manufacturers to work together to develop innovative and profitable solutions," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Redline Communications. "By working with Cisco to deliver this WiFi-WiMAX solution, Redline is delivering on its commitment to offer WiMAX solutions that help our customers succeed."

WiFi - WiMAX Mesh Solution Benefits

Cost-effective wireless mesh networks answer the growing demand for ubiquitous Internet access for both urban and rural environments. Operators can quickly install mesh access points from street lights, power poles, or other public infrastructure to generate immediate revenue from both WiMAX and WiFi customers.

Redline and Cisco at WiMAX World USA

Redline and Cisco will feature their WiFi-WiMAX mesh solution at Redline's booth (No.505) at WiMAX World in Boston, October 10 - 12, 2006. Redline and Cisco representatives will be available to discuss how this innovative mesh network solution can help operators to grow their market share and generate new revenue opportunities. Redline is a member of Cisco's Technology Development Partner program.
