Mobile Users for the First Time Can Search for Personalized Content Streamed to Their Phones without Any Complicated Downloads or Software
DAVIDSON, N.C. -- UpSNAP, Inc. (OTCBB: UPSN), the premier provider of free mobile search and streaming mobile audio entertainment, today launched an industry-leading new multimedia search and entertainment offering for podcasts and radio content that works on any mobile phone in the US.
Mobile users for the first time can enjoy personalized content on their phones without having to rely upon specialized devices, hardware, software or downloads. Finding and listening to mobile content when on the go has never been easier. Consumers can customize their own playlists and even search for content, artists, podcasts, and information services, all using text messages.
The service uses a simple text messaging interface to search for and access content, making UpSNAP's offerings available to almost all of the 210 million cellular handsets in the US. No credit card is required to purchase premium services, as customers are billed directly via their cellular phone bills. Podcasts, and creating your own playlist on demand are all free.
The UpSNAP web store features content from over 1,600 music and podcast publishers, as well as a host of mobile search and text-based services. Consumers can choose from free services and individual audio programs, or premium services and content packages.
In addition, consumers can create their own playlists, allowing listeners to build personalized mobile content menus. A robust RSS engine provides access to the listener's favorite podcasts. All of this is done without the inconvenience of lengthy, memory-consuming downloads or separate player applications.
"UpSNAP's muti-modal search and content delivery offerings allow consumers to search and customize mobile content for the first time. Now, anyone in the United States can have convenient access to personalized mobile content, at any time and any place," said Tony Philipp, UpSNAP's CEO.
