BOSTON -- Panasonic Computer Solutions Company, the leader in durable, reliable mobile computing and digital video recording (DVR) solutions for public safety agencies, today announced that it has achieved an engineering milestone with the availability of 1,000 Nit (candelas per square meter, a measure of brightness) displays in its Panasonic[R] Toughbook[R] CF-30 notebook computers. Introduced today at the 113th annual International Association of Chiefs of Police conference, the Toughbook CF-30 rugged notebook delivers fixed mount screen brightness in a portable computerCothe first to achieve this level of outdoor readability.
Toughbooks have long used anti-glare and anti-reflective screen coatings, coupled with bright displays, in order to improve outdoor visibility. The result of Panasonic's leadership in engineering mobile computing solutions, the new CF-30 is twice as bright as most rugged notebooks and several times brighter than standard form factor notebooks. Even with this advancement, the CF-30 still delivers a battery life of more than 6 hours (depending on conditions of usage), in a form factor designed to withstand the extreme conditions faced by law enforcement agencies every day.
"One of the reasons we have continued to recommend the purchase of Toughbooks is because Panasonic listens to their customers and constantly looks for innovative ways to support the work we do every day," said Chris Gore, Mobile Data Administrator, Harris County Sheriff's Office. "This technology truly raises the bar for law enforcement and other professionals required to work in daylight conditions."
A Range of Solutions for Law Enforcement
Also on display at IACP is the latest complete digital video recording (DVR) solution for public safety agencies, the Toughbook[R] Arbitrator[TM] CP. Announced last week, the Arbitrator CP is designed to provide more flexibility for users and to improve incident documentation and evidence management. It also serves to streamline operations and reduce the financial and community reputation risks associated with civil lawsuits. In addition, the output from a digital video system is much easier to archive, search, manage and track, saving agencies time, money, and space while helping to protect the chain of evidence.
"Panasonic customers demand durable, reliable solutions that work wherever they do and they trust us to deliver that," said Jan Ruderman, director, public sector, Panasonic Computer Solutions Company. "The Toughbook Arbitrator and CF-30 with 1,000 Nit display are the latest examples of how Panasonic engineers will continue to push the limits of technologyConot for its own sake, but where our customers' missions require it."
