Embotics to Showcase Autonomic Computing Initiatives with AMD at Oracle OpenWorld 2006; Companies Join Together to Educate Attendees on Automated Approach for Systems Management and IT Governance
Business Wire, Oct 17, 2006
SAN FRANCISCO -- Embotics, a company developing software for autonomic IT service management and security, today announced it will demonstrate and present sessions with AMD that address system manageability and IT governance needs for server platforms at Oracle OpenWorld 2006, being held October 22-26, 2006 in San Francisco, Calif. Oracle OpenWorld 2006 is dedicated to helping enterprises connect people to industry products and trends in the business and information technology industry.
Jay Litkey, CEO and founder of Embotics, will present examples of these promising solutions for servers based on AMD Trinity platform architectures. The presentations and technology demonstrations will illustrate the use of autonomic software controls to prevent downtime, reduce the costs associated with compliance audits and configuration management processes, and reduce the risks of enabling trusted third party access to systems. The demonstrations will leverage current and upcoming standards, including Web Services for Management (WS-Management) and Open Platform Management Architecture (OPMA).

Information security is now top-of-mind for boards, CXO's and enterprise business units. As a result, IT governance costs have skyrocketed driven by compliance audits and the onerous adoption of manual processes.
The industry is moving toward more intelligent and automated management approaches to ensure complete system availability and security. Traditional software agent-based solutions are available, but they fundamentally lack the ability to provide comprehensive, tamper-proof audit and control capabilities. By employing self-managing, autonomic principles, Embotics helps deliver information protection and assurance while reducing costs.
