Endeca Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of 2006 Magic Quadrant for Information Access Technology
Business Wire, Oct 17, 2006
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Endeca, a next-generation information access company, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant of the 2006 Information Access Technology Magic Quadrant report1. According to Gartner, vendors listed in this quadrant demonstrate significant architectural flexibility. They have a strong, innovative and broad means of determining relevancy of results to users and provide developers with the flexibility and appropriate tools to tune these relevancy settings. They are financially prepared to weather hard times, and they possess sufficient resources to invest inorganically and organically in technology and business growth. They have established sufficient depth and strength to serve as platform vendors whose software might be used to solve most information access problems.
According to the report, "This Magic Quadrant includes vendors with capabilities that go beyond enterprise search to encompass a collection of technologies, including search, content classification, categorization and clustering; fact and entity extraction; taxonomy creation and management; and information presentation (for example, visualization) to support analysis and understanding." In the report, Gartner states that "finding information, and acting on it intelligently, demands increasingly sophisticated and innovative strategies."
"Organizations are now employing new classes of information access applications to inform decisions - decisions that increase revenue, optimize resource allocation, ensure compliance, and improve overall business performance," said Steve Papa, chief executive officer of Endeca. "As Gartner points out, information access technologies are rapidly becoming the conduit between disparate data and content, uniting all information to give users a holistic and contextual view of related information scattered across enterprise systems."
