Leading business-to-business media company invests in electronic expertise
FORT ATKINSON, Wis. -- Cygnus Business Media, a leading diversified business-to-business media company, announced today that Scott Roulet has joined the company as vice president of business development. Roulet has spent the past two decades in the electronic publishing arena, most recently as vice president of publisher relations for ProQuest Company, a supplier of electronic information for the library and academic markets.
"Scott has a background of assisting traditional media companies in expanding their electronic offerings," says Co-CEO Carr Davis. "He also thinks beyond the box and has been a pioneer of web-based delivery systems, utilizing technology to deliver the first personalized news service on the web in 1996 and the first worldwide musical concert through a webcast in 1999."
Prior to joining ProQuest, Roulet served as senior vice president of business development for Wavo Corp, a media delivery company providing content and information solutions to the corporate, financial and consumer marketplace. He also held a variety of sales and business development roles for DataTimes, managing content distribution to the company's subsidiaries and third party partners including Dow Jones & Co. and America Online.
"Digital delivery can increase the reach of an audience without a proportional increase in cost," says Roulet. "My role at Cygnus is to leverage existing assets and create meaningful strategic alliances for the distribution of our content. Cygnus has an impressive subscriber base with its publications and traditional publishing platforms, expositions and online media, with already established brands in which web-based opportunities can be expanded and strengthened."
