Spotfire Reveals 'Competing on Analytics' Methodology to High Tech Manufacturers at ISMI Symposium
Business Wire, Oct 2, 2006
Director Brad Hopper to Describe How Leading Semiconductor Manufacturers are Getting Ahead of their Competition by Closing the Analysis Gap
SOMERVILLE, Mass. -- Spotfire, Inc. (http://www.spotfire.com/), a leading provider of interactive analytics software that helps business professionals quickly discover new and actionable insights in information, today announced that Brad Hopper, Senior Director, Industry Applications, has been invited to speak at the International SEMATECH Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI) Manufacturing Effectiveness Symposium in a session entitled, "Novel Approaches to the Analysis and Visualization of Manufacturing Data." The symposium will be held Oct. 9-11 in Austin, Texas.
What:
Semiconductor manufacturers create and collect massive amounts of business and technical data in every part of their extended supply chain. Leading companies like Toshiba, Texas Instruments, AMD, Amkor and others are able to generate insights and take action on their data faster than their competitors because they put highly effective analytical tools in the hands of a larger population of their business users and managers.
The traditional approach to semiconductor data analysis - providing specialized applications for a few power users and giving high volume reports to everyone else - creates a barrier to competitiveness that Spotfire calls the Analysis Gap. Hopper will present examples of how manufacturers around the world are applying visual, interactive analytics to a variety of engineering and business processes to close this gap and thereby generating an information advantage over their competitors.
The third annual ISMI Symposium on Manufacturing Effectiveness will share information and methodologies for reducing manufacturing expenses in both existing and next-generation fabs through advances in equipment, process, resources, fab design, and manufacturing methods.
When: Tuesday, October 10
9:25 - 9:50 a.m. CDT
Where: Hilton Austin Airport
Austin, Texas
