How To Save a Life is the #3 Digital Album of All-time
NEW YORK -- The Fray, a Denver-based band are currently headlining a string of tour dates to support their major-label debut, How To Save A Life which was just recently certified RIAA Platinum.
The anthemic first single, "Over my Head (Cable Car)" scaled the charts and hit #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, was recently certified as a platinum digital single and peaked at radio after almost a year released. The follow up single, "How to Save a Life," is sky rocketing the digital world with 900,000 digital sales and over 204,000 ringtones sold. With downloads exploding, How To Save A Life now holds the # 1 digital album for 2006, and is currently the #3 digital album of all-time!
"How to Save a Life" has been fast reacting at radio, licensing and with the band's fanbase. The single is currently #1 at Hot AC, reached the top spot at AAA and is looking like it will also go #1 at Top 40, where it sits at #6 while still growing rapidly every week.
Even with all of the success, the band still hangs on to what mattered in the beginning. Ben Wysocki told The Boston Herald, "(The band) needs to stay on the road, perfect their live show and keep making quality musicC*all the success does is make you work harder on the other side."
The Fray continues to receive positive reviews on their sold out fall tour. "The sold-out house matched Slade and guitarist-singer Joe King word for word on tracks from the album," said the Boston Globe. "The Fray brought a harder-edged stomp to a handful of mid-tempo-rock selections, 'Little House' shaking with intrigue and 'She Is' twinkling with wish-upon-a-star brightness," according to The Chicago Tribune.
After completing their sold out fall tour, the band will take a short break, then return to the road for their first college headlining tour.
