According to Gartner, leaders are vendors that are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market. In the report, Andy Rolfe, research director, and Joe Skorupa, research VP, state, "Leaders exhibit an ability to shape the market by introducing additional capabilities in its product offering and by raising the awareness of the importance of these features. We expect a leader to be growing market share, or the market as a whole, and to have solutions that resonate with an increasing number of enterprises. Leaders in the WOC market need to have a broad feature set, including QoS, generic compression, protocol acceleration and file system acceleration, with the majority of features proven in substantial real-world implementations. They also need to be able to offer sales and support on a global basis."
"Given the crowded and competitive field of entrants that Gartner considered for this report, we are especially proud of our positioning in the leaders' quadrant," said Michael Banic, senior director, Applications Products Group, Juniper Networks. "The success of our application acceleration platforms speaks as much of the team that delivered these products as it does of the superiority of the products themselves."
