Spotfire Extends the Power of Analytics to Managers and Business Professionals; New Spotfire DXP™ Enterprise Player delivers information insights to a broader base of front line decision-makers
Business Wire, Sept 12, 2006
SOMERVILLE, Mass. -- Spotfire, Inc. (http://www.spotfire.com/), a leading provider of interactive analytics software that helps business professionals quickly discover new and actionable insights in information, today announced the immediate availability of the Spotfire DXP(TM) Enterprise Player. A companion to the Spotfire DXP analytics platform, the Enterprise Player lets companies easily deploy interactive analytics on desktops throughout the organization, delivering information insights on the front lines of decision-making.
"The static reports we were broadcasting to our sales managers were not generating the informational insights required to give us an advantage in the field," said Wilbert Beumer, sales force effectiveness manager, Boehringer Ingelheim. "The Spotfire DXP Enterprise Player lets our sales managers ask questions of our data on-the-fly, generating fast insights that increase our sales velocity. We have become a more nimble business because the Spotfire DXP Enterprise Player has created for us a population of business analysts."
The Enterprise Player allows managers and business professionals to read and interact with analysis results that have been published by any Spotfire DXP user. By allowing them to "play" these analyses - rather than simply receiving static reports - they can ask their own questions of the information to drive decisive action from new insights. Spotfire customers may also easily upgrade the Enterprise Player to a full Spotfire DXP seat license, then giving users the ability to author and broadcast their own analyses.
"Spotfire customers are achieving a competitive advantage by moving away from the static and inflexible reports that have traditionally been broadcast to operational professionals in manufacturing, sales and marketing," stated Christopher Ahlberg, Spotfire founder and CEO. "The Spotfire DXP Enterprise Player gives these professionals unprecedented ability to ask and answer their own questions on demand, leading to new insights and better decisions."
Features of the Spotfire DXP Enterprise Player:
--Ability to open and save Spotfire DXP analysis files linked to corporate data and containing embedded data
--Simple navigation of pre-configured analysis workflows and applications
--Flexible data exploration with interactive data filter devices
--Ability to export visualizations and analysis to PowerPoint
--User permissions and preferences managed centrally from the Spotfire Analytics Server
"Organizations have made significant investments in data-centric IT infrastructure. Therefore, it makes little sense to confine analytics to a small group of business analysts because it minimizes return on those investments," said Dan Vesset, research director of Business Analytics at IDC. "We believe that broadly deploying interactive analytics will become a requirement for organizations wanting to compete on speed and intelligence. The Spotfire DXP Enterprise Player is an interactive, visual analytics software that has the potential to be broadly deployed and highly utilized throughout an organization."
"DXP Enterprise Player will be great because it will allow us to shield certain business professionals within our organization from the complexity of data analysis while still allowing them to experience the benefits and insights of analytics," said Dr. Juergen Guenther, senior manager, customer operations, Lilly Critical Care Europe.
