MIVA Announces Global Launch of MIVA InLine; New Pay-Per-Click Product Offers Incremental Revenue Stream for Online Publishers without Increasing Page Impressions
Business Wire, Sept 13, 2006
NEW YORK -- MIVA, Inc., (NASDAQ:MIVA), a leading independent online advertising network today announced the global launch of MIVA InLine, a new product that enables online publishers to build revenue without increasing page impressions or freeing up site real estate for advertising.
"MIVA InLine provides a potentially significant incremental revenue stream for online publishers, many of whom are struggling to keep up with the demand for available site inventory in the current online advertising boom," said Seb Bishop, President and CMO, MIVA. "A major benefit of the new product is its ability to drive increased revenue without any need for publishers to increase page impressions," Bishop said.
With MIVA InLine, online publishers' sites are crawled and hyperlinks added to keywords within the actual content of specific pages. When users mouse over these hyperlinks, a floating Pay-Per-Click Ad appears that relates directly to the specific keyword. Site users can then choose to click on the Ad, or continue browsing the site.
The technology underpinning MIVA InLine means that, in addition to displaying a Pay-Per-Click Ad against individual keywords, implementations can also display editorial links directing users to other related pages of publishers' sites. This feature, which is initially available only to MIVA's larger publishing partners, is powered by MIVA's propriety contextual technology, and is designed to enhance online user experience.
Sophisticated filters have been built into MIVA InLine to prevent keywords from being tagged in sensitive or inappropriate articles, and MIVA has assigned a team of editorial experts to monitor and update these filters. A range of other intuitive features enable publishers to:
--fully customize their implementations to suit the existing design style of their sites;
--specify both the individual web pages and the sections of content within those pages that they want included in their MIVA InLine implementation;
--choose whether hyperlinks are added every time the same keyword appears or just in the first instance;
--specify the number of unique keywords in the content against which Ads will appear - up to twenty unique keywords can be tagged within each page of content.
"Consumers spend 39% of their online time browsing content sites,"(a) said Bishop. "At MIVA our aim is to provide publishers with the tools they need to reach these consumers with highly targeted, revenue generating advertising. MIVA InLine is a key complement to our existing contextual solutions," said Bishop.
MIVA InLine is launching simultaneously across the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Spain and Italy. For further information on the new product, visit http://www.miva.com/inline.
