Vernier Networks to Address Industry Standards for Network Access Control at Interop New York
Business Wire, Sept 13, 2006
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Company to Also Exhibit Award-Winning EdgeWall Family of Network Access Control Appliances
Vernier Networks will participate in the Trusted Computing Group's Trusted Network Connect (TNC) seminar at the Interop New York conference, which will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from Sept. 18-22. Rod Murchison, vice president of marketing and product management for Vernier Networks, will present the overview of TNC and discuss network access control standards and endpoint integrity.
The TCG-TNC event will be held on Sept. 20 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in room 2D08 at 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. A third session will be held at 4 p.m. and will include a networking reception. Trusted Network Connect is an open, non-proprietary architecture for endpoint integrity and access control that enables the application and enforcement of security requirements for endpoints connecting to a network.
"Throughout the past five years, Vernier has been committed to developing network access control solutions that interoperate in today's complex, heterogeneous environments," said Murchison. "As part of the TCG's TNC initiative, we believe that customers will ultimately benefit from open, industry standard solutions that incorporate the richest NAC features, enabling organizations to better defend their networks against the increasing number of internal threats."
In booth #566, Vernier will also showcase its award-winning line of EdgeWall Network Access Control appliances, including the EdgeWall 8800, the industry's first modular high-performance NAC platform. Currently in customer trials and available in late fall, the EdgeWall 8800 offers 40 Gbps throughput capacity and is the first NAC platform able to detect policy compliance violations at layers 4 through 7 in real time. The EdgeWall 8800 also inspects and protects user traffic from security threats and malicious behavior with a fully integrated Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) engine.
The entire EdgeWall product family defends against intrusions and attacks from endpoints by screening users and devices for desktop policy compliance, restricting access to network resources, inspecting network and application traffic for worms and viruses, and enforcing remediation on infected and out-of-compliance devices.
