AXA To Optimize Mortgage Process with Cordys Business Process Management Solution

Business Wire, Sept 13, 2006

PUTTEN, the Netherlands and CHICAGO -- AXA Leven N.V., a Dutch life insurance company and part of world-wide operating AXA Group, is optimizing the application process of mortgage insurances with the help of Cordys, supplier of SOA based software with which businesses can give a new impetus to both new and existing business. AXA is deploying the Cordys Business Process Management software (BPM) to model and automate the mortgage process. The insurer wants to improve the service towards intermediaries and at the same time to work internally on operational excellence.

According to Wouter Boeser, operational manager Integration & Application Services at AXA, the insurer integrated its physical infrastructure some time ago. "But the control of our processes was still open to improvement. With the Cordys software we can optimize our processes and expand the services."

"The process of modeling and automating involves a large number of steps that we must run through together with our intermediaries", says Boeser. "We must check for instance whether the application is complete before it can be processed administratively. If data are absent, we will immediately give feedback to the intermediary about the data concerned. By automating and optimizing this process as much as possible we want to improve the services to intermediaries further."

With its BPM-solution Cordys offers a framework for modeling new process-directed applications or functionality in existing systems. An organization can use Cordys BPM to model, carry out, monitor and manage processes in a controlled manner. Cordys offers in this connection a unique browser based environment with which business processes can be designed at various conceptual levels. The software uses thereby the Business Process Modeling Notation standard (BPMN). Cordys BPM is an integral element of the Cordys Composite Application Framework (CAF), a complete, open and flexible development environment for compound applications. With this organizations can develop and plot on web services based applications.

AXA will take the Cordys BPM solution in stages into use by the end of September. In addition, the insurer will be exploring in the next six months whether the BPM-software of Cordys can be deployed at more places in the organization.

"Insurers are dealing with a lot of extensive and complex processes", says Michiel Oldenhof, Vice-President Sales of Cordys Europe. "With our software AXA can map and automate its processes, at which changes or new services, if any, can quickly be added. We are confident that with our software AXA can optimize and expand its processes and services further. We are looking forward to a successful cooperation and in due time a further structural deployment of our software at AXA."
