Computerworld Names Recipients of ''Best Practices in Infrastructure Management'' Awards; Honorees Announced and Recognized at Infrastructure Management World

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Computerworld, the "Voice of IT Management," announced yesterday the recipients of its "Best Practices in Infrastructure Management" awards during a ceremony at Infrastructure Management World, the only IT management conference exclusively focused on distributed management technologies for the data center and communications infrastructure. The awards program was sponsored by EMC.
Honorees of IMW's "Best Practices in Infrastructure Management" awards were selected from approximately 100 entries in five categories, with two award honorees per category and finalists for each. They were judged by representatives from a variety of organizations including Computerworld and IDC. The awards were presented in five categories to the following organizations:
In the category of Data Center and Network Consolidation/Dynamic IT, the honorees are:
--General Mills (Minneapolis, Minn.)
--Catholic Health Partners (Cincinnati, Ohio)
In the category of Distributed Systems and Infrastructure Implementation/Dynamic Infrastructure, the honorees are:
--Lockheed Martin (Gaithersburg, Md.)
--Detroit Medical Center (Detroit, Mich.)
In the category of Innovation and Promise, the honorees are:
--MIT Whitehead Inst. for Bio-Medical Research/MIT BioImaging Center/CSBi (Cambridge, Mass.)
--Accenture (Chicago, Ill.)
In the category of Managing to Improve TCO/ROI, the honorees are:
--SHOP.com (Monterey, Canada)
--Polo Ralph Lauren (Greensboro, N.C.)
In the category of Security, Risk Management and Business Continuity/Dynamic Information, the honorees are:
--Marriott International, Inc. (Washington D.C.)
--Capital Technology Information Services, Inc. (Rockville, Md.)
