St. Bernard Software Recognized by Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program for Third Consecutive Year; Company Ranked 33rd Amongst San Diego's Fastest Growing Technology Companies
Business Wire, Sept 18, 2006
SAN DIEGO -- St. Bernard Software, Inc. (OTCBB:SBSW), a global provider of security solutions for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for San Diego for the third consecutive year. The program ranks the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services organizations. Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2001-2005. During that period of time, St. Bernard Software has experienced a 113% increase in revenue.
St. Bernard Software CEO John Jones credits the company's strong growth over the past five years to the continued adoption and retention of the company's security solutions, which are tailored to meet the specific needs of SMEs. In addition, high quality employees and right timing in the marketplace were also key contributing factors to the company's success. "Achieving this recognition for the third year in a row is a testament to our strong industry leadership," Jones said. "With our solid products, corporate roadmap, and deep commitment and value proposition to the SME community, St. Bernard Software is well positioned for continued success in upcoming years."
"To rank on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50, companies must have phenomenal revenue growth over five years," said Theresa Drew, managing partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, San Diego. "St. Bernard Software has proven to be one of the fast-growth success stories in San Diego, and we applaud their dedication to making the company vision a reality."
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2001 and $5,000,000 in 2005, be headquartered in North America, and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.
Winners of the 16 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies.
