IBM, Mainline and Polycom Join Justice Digital Solutions for Digital Arraignment Event; Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson To Deliver Keynote Address
Business Wire, Sept 18, 2006
NORCROSS, Ga. -- Justice Digital Solutions LLC (JDS) - the Simtrol, Inc. (OTCBB: SMRL) and Integrated Digital Systems joint venture - today announced that IBM, Mainline Information Systems and Polycom will join JDS for a September 27 digital arraignment event at Laurel Manor in Livonia, Michigan. The purpose of the event is to share information regarding Oakland County's development and deployment of its CIO Magazine Top 100 award winning OakVideo digital arraignment solution.
OakVideo was developed by Oakland County to track and record all prisoner case information into a digital case file. It provides efficient processing from booking through arraignment, saves significant taxpayer dollars while increasing public safety, and pays for itself in approximately 12 to 18 months.
In a unique technical and licensing relationship with Oakland County, OakVideo is now commercially available through JDS under the name Curiax(TM) - derived from the Latin phrase "amicus curiae," meaning "friend of the court." Curiax Arraigner(TM) leverages IBM's powerful WebSphere platform and Polycom's market leading videoconferencing platform and is sold, implemented and supported nationwide by Mainline Information Systems, a leading IBM solution provider.
The event features a keynote address by Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, a project implementation overview by Deputy Executive Robert Daddow and CLEMIS Manager Joseph Sullivan, as well as a product demonstration by JDS. The event is free and a link to the invitation can be found at: http://www.justicedigital.com/invite/invitemessage.htm
JDS's Chief Executive Officer, Rick Egan, commented: "We are excited about this event and look forward to working with counties throughout Michigan to bring them the same benefits enjoyed by Oakland County - increased public safety, workflow efficiencies and reduced costs. These benefits are invaluable in a post-September 11 world where our law enforcement officials are directed to do increasingly more to protect citizens. We appreciate the support of IBM, Mainline and Polycom in sponsoring the event and are pleased to have the highest level of support and participation from Oakland County."
