Company Builds Out North American Sales Team Around Partner and Customer Needs

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Thrane & Thrane, Inc., a leading provider of global mobile satellite and radio communication solutions, today announced the expansion of its sales department, as it further commits to meet demand for Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) satellite terminals and Inmarsat air time following the activation earlier this year of the Inmarsat BGAN service in North America. Thrane & Thrane has promoted three company sales veterans and hired two new account managers.

"These moves will help us better support our channel partners as we transition from being a direct sales organization to a partner organization, and will also expand our presence to move into new markets for Inmarsat BGAN services with the EXPLORER(TM) Family of terminals," said George Spohn, vice president of sales and marketing. "These appointments also demonstrate how we reward strong performance and put the best people in charge of our partner and customer relationships."

Thrane & Thrane has promoted Ken Latham, former director of land mobile products, to the newly-created role of director of corporate development. In this role, he will oversee initiatives to enhance federal government applications, increase government awareness of the company's product family and drive business to partners. Latham has worked at Thrane & Thrane for three years and was previously the director of business development at General Dynamics for eight years. Prior to that, he was with Computer Associates as a government account specialist.

Ron Lockerby will assume the new role of director of business application development, focusing on developing land mobile and maritime applications in new and existing markets. In his previous role, Lockerby was the director of maritime products and has worked at Thrane & Thrane for three years. Previously, he was a programs manager for Conley & Associates, Inc. where he was responsible for managing and executing C4ISR programs for the Department of Defense. He served 16 years active duty as a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) in the U.S. Army Transportation Corp. as a licensed Ships Master onboard various Army watercraft. In addition, he served five years active duty as a Boatswain Mate (BM2) in the U.S. Navy Special Warfare Group (NSWG) conducting global offshore and inshore tactical and intelligence special operations.

Amy Belmaggio, former account manager, has been promoted to the director of airtime services. In this role, Belmaggio will be responsible for developing airtime services for new markets. She joined Thrane & Thrane in early 2005 and was previously government accounts manager and government data account executive for Nextel Communications. Prior to Nextel, Belmaggio worked for Skytel Communications as a senior wireless technical consultant and previously served as a Naval air traffic controller for five years.

Thrane & Thrane has also hired two account managers, Lauri Paul, former director of sales at Boatracs, and Hillary Munsch, the former account manager of Bowman Systems. Paul and Munsch will help manage client relationships and provide sales support.
