Deltek 2006 Operating Statistics Survey Reveals Strong Market Period for Professional Services Firms
Business Wire, Sept 26, 2006
HERNDON, Va. -- Deltek, the leading provider of enterprise management software for project-focused organizations, today announced the release of its 2006 Operating Statistics Survey for the Project-Focused Professional Services Firm. The survey reports a strong market period for project-focused architecture/engineering (A/E) and professional services firms analyzing financial, project and employee metrics provided by more than 500 respondents across the industry.
The 2006 survey findings, covering calendar year 2005, demonstrate the robust market conditions for professional services firms, with noted upswings in key financial metrics. Net revenues and profits per employee, net multipliers, and net profit before taxesCothree primary indicators of the health of the marketCoexceed or are very near to the highest levels ever recorded in the 20 years the survey has been conducted. Indicative of the market growth, the number of firms describing themselves as 'rapidly growing' has increased by more than 12 percent over the previous three years in the survey.
Profits on net revenues before taxes have also increased by nearly 14 percent over the previous survey year. Analysis indicates that with a higher demand for services, A/E and professional services firms are able to bid their project work at a higher dollar value and at the same time, be more selective in pursuing those projects with a higher return on investment.
Deltek's Operating Statistics Survey was initiated more than 20 years ago with the express purpose of offering company executives an accurate source of industry information with which to make informed business decisions. Participation in this year's survey was the highest ever, with 506 respondents surveyed between June and July of 2006.
"With more than 20 years of experience serving project-focused organizations, Deltek has built an in-depth knowledge of the architecture/engineering and the professional services industries," said Kevin Parker, president and CEO of Deltek. "Deltek's operating statistics survey provides a tremendous opportunity for project-focused service organizations to anticipate the industry, providing them with an invaluable resource that will help predict future trends."
