Cimnet Systems Achieves ISO Certification; Company Adopts Internationally Accepted Software and Services Quality Standards
Business Wire, Sept 5, 2006
INDIANAPOLIS -- Cimnet Systems (I) Pvt. Limited, an offshore development center of Cimnet Systems, Inc., a business unit of Made2Manage Systems and a leading global supplier of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services for the printed circuit board (PCB) industry, today announced its ISO 9001:2000 certification after attaining the global quality standards set forth for software companies by the ISO, a network of national standards institutes across more than 150 countries.
"We now develop our products and services according to quality specifications that have wide acceptance across the software industry," said Mehul Dave, general manager of Cimnet Systems. "These standards will enhance our ability to serve some of the largest PCB manufacturers in the world."

To achieve ISO certification, the Cimnet Systems staff underwent a complicated certification process, including an audit. Under the direction of D. R. Mukunda, director, products and services, the Cimnet product development team created detailed documentation for more than 40 business processes and procedures, including addressing customization requests, incorporating product enhancements, fixing product issues, and testing for quality.
"Implementing ISO standards certainly adds increased time and resources to our development cycle, but the benefits outweigh the costs in the long run," said Mukunda. "These processes will ensure that we are achieving the highest possible quality in the solutions we deliver to our customers and, in our business model, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty is priority number one."
ISO certification has become increasingly important to Cimnet Systems' customers. Viasystems Group, Inc., one of the largest PCB manufacturers in Asia, a Cimnet Systems customer, and holder of multiple quality certifications including several ISO statuses and Six Sigma, encouraged Cimnet Systems to achieve ISO certification in order to support the company's mission-critical deployment of Paradigm, Cimnet's core ERP package, in its China plants.
One of Viasystems' objectives is to develop partnerships with key suppliers that focus on improving the quality of products delivered to Viasystems. "Viasystems' internal software development center in China obtained ISO certification in 2005 and, through continuous dialog, benchmarking, and exchanging of software development process knowledge, Viasystems, Cimnet Systems, and other key technology suppliers have benefited from a collective effort toward process maturity," said Robert Kuo, director of IT, Asia Pacific, for Viasystems. "We believe process quality leads to product quality."
"ISO certification is imperative as we continue to manage and grow Made2Manage Systems' India-based development and business process outsourcing centers," added Dave. "Our India-based employees must collaborate with our U.S.-based staff to develop market-leading software products. Any international R&D organization needs to adhere to best-practice quality standards in order to be successful."
