C-COR Powers Kabel Noord to Deliver HSD and VoIP

Business Wire, Sept 5, 2006

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ:CCBL), a global provider of transport solutions, network intelligence, On Demand, and operations management for IP networks, today announced that Kabel Noord, the Netherlands cable operator serving Northeast Friesland, has selected C-COR's CHP Max5000(TM) Converged Headend Platform as a key component in extending network bandwidth for new HSD and VoIP services. C-COR's CHP Max5000's innovative technology converges hub, headend, and 1550nm transmission onto one scalable platform, enabling accelerated deployment of advanced services and helping cable operators make the most of their network investments. The CHP's 1GHz high-density platform provides cable operators with a competitive edge by expanding bandwidth capacity on existing infrastructure for revenue-generating voice, video, and data services, including capacity to add HDTV as this service develops in Europe.

"We are committed to investing in state-of-the-art equipment that expedites the delivery of multiple, high quality services to our subscribers," stated Anton van der Hoek, Supervisor, Kabel Noord. "C-COR's CHP headend solution offers both the advanced technology and the ease of installation and management that will expedite our goal to deliver services such as HSD and VoIP to a growing number of customers."

Pieter Dhondt, Director of Solutions Sales for EMEA, C-COR, also commented, "The selection of the CHP Max5000 by Kabel Noord demonstrates the on-going strength of our headend transport solution in the European cable market. To best serve our customers, we continue to develop next-generation capabilities for the CHP, including our latest 1 GHz CWDM 1311nm Forward Path Transmitter. This innovative new transmitter allows cable operators to leverage their existing network infrastructure to support rapidly growing residential and business services without incurring the significant construction costs associated with additional fiber deployment."
