Business Wire, Sept 6, 2006
ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA(R)) today announced a partnership with Digital Media Wire, producer of the Future of Television Forum and the Digital Music Forum. CEA will invest in, sponsor and help promote the Future of Television Forum, next scheduled for November 16-17, 2006, and the Digital Music Forum East, next set for March 6-7, 2007. Both events will be held in New York City.
"The content and technology industries are intersecting, as both work together to bring innovation, technology and content into the lives of consumers," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA. "CEA's partnership with Digital Media Wire was the next logical step in expanding and growing the relationship between consumer technology and the content community."
"CEA has been hugely successful in promoting the consumer electronics industry through industry conferences and events including the International CES," said Ned Sherman, CEO and publisher, Digital Media Wire. "We're thrilled to be partnering with CEA, as we look to expand the breadth and depth of the digital content and television industries."
The Future of Television, scheduled for November 16-17, 2006 at NYU's Stern School of Business, attracts senior executives from the cable and broadcast industries, as well as cable and satellite operators and leaders in advertising to focus on the growth and development of television. The Forum has attracted key speakers from major industry players including Fox Television Stations, HDNet and Viacom.
The Digital Music Forum East draws more than 400 high-level executives from major record labels, music businesses and technology providers including Columbia Records, EMI Music, Island Def Jam, MTV/VH1, Napster, Sony BMG and Universal Music, to examine the evolution of digital technologies and their effects on the future of music.
