TheStreet.com Adds Bank, Thrift, Insurer and HMO Financial Ratings to Free Proprietary Screening Tool

NEW YORK -- TheStreet.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSCM), a leading provider of financial commentary, analysis, research, news and ratings, today announced that Ratings data on banks and thrifts, insurers and HMOs in addition to stocks, exchange traded funds (ETFs) and mutual funds -- are now available for free in its proprietary Ratings Screener on the Company's free Web site, www.thestreet.com.
TheStreet.com Ratings provides financial strength ratings for more than 3,800 insurance companies including auto, homeowners, life, health, long-term care, Medicare supplement, and business insurers. Ratings are also available on more than 8,500 financial institutions nationwide, from small community banks to major national commercial banks.
Items within the Ratings Screener are searchable by several criteria, including name or ticker, company type, location, market capitalization, sector/industry, fund family/style, recommendation/rating, and risk rating.
With ratings on a scale from A (Excellent Financial Strength) to E (Very Weak Financial Strength), TheStreet.com Ratings synthesizes thousands of data points into an easy-to-understand evaluation of each company's capitalization, asset quality, profitability, liquidity, stability, and reserve adequacy summarized in a one-page report.
